So the month of December flew by due to finals and work and just daily life duties.
Blake lost his job at Kmart due to some very unprofessional mistakes on the manger's part and so we were worried there for a while.
Eventually, though, we straightened things out and he got a placement with the Sears outlet store here in Rexburg. Same company, better hours, better times.
SO the upside was that I got to have my honey-bunch with me nearly the entire month of December and we got to make lots of Christmas memories with Alex!
Excited to See Santa Claus!
Now not sure what to think, lol
WE decorated our tree-with a Christ centered theme this year. Our very own Christ-mas tree! We were very excited as we hand made the ornaments ourselves out of paper and old Ensign pictures.
We made cookies and brownies and snacked on peppermint sticks throughout the season. I had the Christmas music playing nearly 24/7 and we watched a myriad of Christmas themed flicks on Youtube and TV.
Right after finals, Blake's grandmother came up. She spent Christmas with us. At the same time, my parents and siblings drove from NE to see us to-as this will be the last Christmas til Joshua leaves for the mission! Despite the fact that nearly everyone contracted colds, coughs, and strep throat, Christmas was still a glorious experience.
Wearing Mommy sleeper. (Yes, this is 21 years old. I wore it my first Christmas)
Christmas Eve was fantastic. We ate pizza, cheese, sausage, and crackers while admiring the fake fire we had going on the TV. We wrote letters to Santa and put them on the tree and then proceeded to go to bed. Alex was read the Night Before Christmas, but he was so excited about the events surrounding Christmas Eve, that he proceeded to stay awake-not wanting to miss out on all the fun. SO, Blake and I took him on a car ride and went Christmas lighting. It was great and Alex fell asleep nearly straight away.
Alex loved all his presents. I got surprised by a replica of Hermione's wand that had my name on it. Blake knew that I had wanted one for a long time, and so he got me one. He also got me the LDS Christmas songbook, which is by the way, the coolest songbook I have ever had! We got some chocolates from Florence's candy here in town as well as some other little trifles. It was magical.

After Christmas, we went to TX to see Blake's parents over New Years. That too was a wonderful week filled with love, kindness, and family.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the joys that God sees fit to bestow upon us!
Carry the Spirit of Christmas with you all the day long!
