FDREL 324 WEEK 3

This week, we read D+C 14-19. These passages contained wonderful passages about the purposes of God, how to roll His work forward upon the Earth, and how to preserve His words for eternity. For my student choice assignment, I was guided to make a PowerPoint slide show on the Three and the Eight Witnesses of the Gold Plates. Back in 1829, Joseph Smith received counsel that he was to let three men-David Whitmer, Oliver Cowdery, and Martin Harris- view and touch the gold plates as well as the sword of Laban, the Liahona, the breastplate of Nephi, and the Urim and Thummim. This was God's design, so that "in the mouth of two or three witnesses" might His servant Joseph Smith be preserved in the work.

I have a testimony that the witnesses did see an angel and did touch the plates of gold. They did see and hear the voice of God telling them to proclaim this work amongst the children of men. I join my testimony with theirs, that Joseph Smith was the Prophet of this Last Dispensation and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that this Gospel is true. And I will stand by this testimony till my dying day.
