Christmas Time is Here!

So I don't want to bore you all with tons of photos of the past eight months...I decided that I want to start with current events! (although you are welcome to go to my profile on facebook and look at the new album I just posted!) So in the spirit of current events, I can start by telling you that this is finals week and things are starting to look CRAZY, lol as always! But, thanks goodness that Blake got the tree up ahead of time so that he and I could decorate the apartment for Christmas! YAY, so now the apartment is festive and beautiful...full of good tidings and sparkling lights. I am also sewing Christmas stockings (that's right, SEWING!) for the new Rawls family complete with one for little baby Alex who I'm certain will be kicking along to all the holiday tunes. Thank goodness that this past week I was able to almost finish mine and then I will complete Blake's, hopefully in the next week or so.

Another thing that has been happening, is the great discussion of how to merge different Christmas traditions. Blake and I are having a wonderful time trying to incorporate our favorite traditions while starting some of our own! One that we want to start as a family is called the "12 days of service"-like the lovely song. WE are going to plan 12 acts of service to be done each day starting the 13th til the 24th! That way we can enbody the pure loving spirit of Christ into every Christmas! It will be wonderful!

Some favorite traditions we want to keep: (When I think of more, I'll post!)

1) Steak dinner on Christmas/Biscuits and Gravy on Christmas Morning
2) Opening one gift on Christmas Eve
3) Santa delivers at least one gift under the tree and then fills the stockings with goodies including apples and oranges and nuts. He also must be fed cookies and milk, with a veggie for his reindeer. (Rudolph burns intense calories that night!)
4) Eating pizza on Christmas Eve while watching "The Muppets Christmas Carol" or the closest Christmas carol version to be found.
5) Reading "The Night Before Christmas"
6) Starting Christmas day off right with the Christmas story found in Luke and John
7) Recieve presents from all sorts of people (including close deceased relatives, famous characters, etc.)
