Our Family Just Got BIGGER!

That's right, folks! Here is the post about my little angel, Alex! But to recap all those who were unawares, at about 37 weeks, Blake and I found out that our baby was breech! That's right, FEET first! Well, I panicked because I had my heart set on a vaginal birth and with him being breech, we were left with little options but a c-section! AHHHHH! I was terrified! Surgery was not the way that I wanted to bring my little boy into this world. It would stall my recovery and I would have to rely on so many for all the little things...and me being "Miss Independent" did not like the sound of that. Anyways, so I began to try everything to change my boys position. I tried cold packs on his head, doing almost headstands, playing music down low to try to lure him down...nothing worked! At 38 weeks, he was still breech, so Blake and I decided that for my benefit-I would schedule the surgery at the 39th week, just so that I would have optimum time to recover. So then I began all the research so that I would know what to expect in a section...Well, Alex decided to come early! lol It was on Monday the 22nd and Blake had just finished a job interview. The contractions started at ten minutes apart, but surprisingly they weren't painful-just a lot of pressure! We were at Wal-mart and Blake decided to call the doctor and they said that I needed to come in a get checked to see if it was real labor or not. When my exam was over, I was sitting a lovely 5cm! Little Alex was still breech so it was emergency surgery for me lol. We went to the hospital and they prepped me for surgery. It was a fast two hours and I was ready to deliver. The surgery went by really fast and before I knew it, Alex was here! I was wheeled into recovery and was allowed to room in with my little angel for the next three days in the hospital. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of glorious and wonderful bliss.
