The Vacation to Beat All Vacations!

For the spring break in between the winter and summer semesters, Blake and I decided to take our first official family vacation! We were at a loss of what to do at first because Blake was scheduled to take the MCAT before school began again, and because we didn't have an exuberant amount of moo la!
Anyways, we looked into a few package deals and decided to take our vacation at Universal Studios! I was so excited. I have never been and with the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter-I was so there! Arrangements were made early in the year, and so when the end of semester arrived, we had a pretty worrisome free trip.

We at first spent the weekend of the 7th-10th with Blake's friend Jason and Carrie Harris. They have an adorable baby boy named Jayden. It was wonderful to spend great times with close friends and just kick back and relax. We contracted a bit of a stomach bug while in Utah, but fortunately by the time Florida arrived,we were all pretty much over the worst of it. We did spend the majority of our anniversary cleaning up baby vomit, though. I felt so sorry for Alex.

This guy was really cool. On Saturday, we hung out at Toys R Us for a while just perusing the aisles. Apparently, this fireman was built out of 270,650 legos and took like 200 hours to complete. I think that around 27 guys worked on this big guy! That is some serious construction time. So of course, in a premiere to all the amazing stuff I was going to get to see on this trip, I just had to snap a photo. It's hard to believe he is all legos!
We left for Florida on the 11th. We took a plane to Denver and then connected to Orlando. Once at the Orlando International Airport, we grabbed a taxi to take us to our hotel. We were ready for a shower and nice soft bed-trust me, traveling on a plane with a toddler is not easy!

Our hotel room was great! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the size of the room was descent. We had a view of the highway and so the humming of the cars were comforting to listen to while sleeping. We had a really nice maid who even folded Alex's clothes and made Alex's bed. She even took an extra sheet from her linen cart to give Alex more bedding to sleep on and make him more comfortable!

Off to the Park!

We had a free shuttle to the park that left every morning from our hotel. Beats the taxi.

We first decided to go to the Islands of Adventure. We chose that so that we could be sure to accomplish the whole park. We had three days worth of tickets and so we wanted to make sure we had ample time in the Harry Potter world. As you can see from the picture, there is Hogwarts rising above the skyline!
The next post will cover the Islands of Adventure!
