Happy Memorial Day

So here is a shout out to all the veterans from the various wars.

Here's to our founding fathers in the Revolutionary War.

To brothers who fought each other for beliefs in the Civil War

Our fighting comrades in the World Wars...

Commemorating those who fought in Korea and Vietnam...

An finally to those who fight every day in Afghanistan and Iraq....

So in church yesterday, one of the speakers mentioned that 8 out of 10 kids have no idea behind the real reason we celebrate Memorial Day! Yes, that is so hard to believe, but its true. 4/5 of kids don't know about the importance of honoring our Veterans who have sacrificed everything that they have in order preserve the freedoms that we hold so dear.

So I wanted to give a shout out to all of those veterans today who are being remembered for their great sacrifices so that Blake, Alex, and I could enjoy the freedoms that we have today. If it weren't for them, (people like both my grandfathers who fought in WWII) we would be a country under oppression. They sacrificed their time, talents, and even their sanity at times to defend the freedoms that we so easily take for granted. I just wanted them to be recognized. Memorial Day is way more than a day off from school or a day to BBQ, it is a day to remember all that we have been given and all that we are being given today. (There's my shout out for all the men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan right now.)
