I wouldn't being doing the family any justice if I didn't post a short memorial about a beloved loved one that we recently lost.
Blake's grandmother passed away about three weeks ago. She had been sick since before Thanksgiving so it wasn't a terrible shock, and she had been put on hospice so it was only a matter of time, but it was still a terrible loss to Blake and his mother.
Sharon was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Despite flaws and differences, she cared deeply for her daughter and grandson. When I came into the picture, she instantly developed a love for me that I felt despite distance and lack of contact. She was a faithful member of the church. She was a teacher to those around her. She was a beautiful woman with a very accomplished life. But most importantly, she was daughter of God who forever strived to bring souls unto Christ. She will be greatly missed.

Sharon B. LeGarde- died March 17, 2012 |
We left for TN on the 18th. It was a long overnight trip, but we made it safe and God protected us. Blake flew out on the 20th so that he could be there and pay his respects. It was a truly beautiful service and we spent the majority of our time sharing stories and beloved memories of Sharon. Blake couldn't stay long and had to return to work on the 22nd, but I remained with Lisa at the house so that we could go through her mom's things and retrieve some cherished memories.
I had such a great time looking through pictures and learning more about Blake and his family. I loved comparing his photos to that of Alex and seeing the resemblance. I loved getting to know my sweetheart better through genealogy. I believe that is how Sharon would have wanted it.
Though she is gone, I can testify that because of the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Sharon will be with her family again. We will all die one day and Sharon will be there on the other side, just waiting to embrace her children-her legacy. I know that one day, we will all be resurrected; our bodies and spirits will reunite and that Sharon will be made whole again. I know that despite the passing of her mortal frame, her spirit lives on and will be forever looking out for her daughter and grandchildren. I know that she is happy and that she is in a beautiful place carrying on the work of our Father beyond the veil. She will be missed, but she is loved and she loves.
Families are Forever
Jesus Christ is Our Savior
In His name, Amen.
