Day in... Day Out

So I don't have any photos for this post, but I felt like I should post something so that you all know that we are still kicking.  Blake is working lots of overtime right now with the start of the new job, and although that has been a great opportunity for him to shine at the office-it leaves us all pretty dim when the day is done.  He comes home exhausted and hungry, Alex has everything and anything to tell him, and I am so worn out from keeping Alex entertained that I'm pretty sure we all collapse from fatigue right after dinner.
And that's what Blake does most times.  After nap, he gets up and works on his classes while I try and keep Alex entertained.  Blake takes a break while he helps put the kiddo in bed, and then we might get to watch an episode of something on tv before it lights out for Blake and lots of Pinteresting for Sarah lol.  Life is good; its just so busy.  We cannot wait for a break to come soon.  Hopefully vacation will find us not before long.  But I have a feeling that will be later rather than sooner...
Other than that, I hang at the house most days trying to find ways to keep Alex entertained.  Also trying to stear clear of too much tv time which is soooo hard with an only child.  He gets bored of playing with me and bored of playing by himself, so he wants to play with the kiddos on the boobtoob.  Its sooo tough as a Mom to make the right calls in this situation.
But I try to limit the screen time to an hour in the morning after breakfast while  I get ready, and then an hour or so after dinner with Daddy because that's about all Daddy feels like doing at times lol.  Not saying I am perfect though.  Definately not!
I have been making some friends in my ward and getting to do a few things.  Today I went out with McKenzie Stewart to the mall.  That was a blast.  It was really nice to go shopping and actually buy some things.  I finally bought these shoes that I have been wanting since before Christmas, but waited cause I new they would be on sale.  So glad I did, cause they went from $55.00 at Payless to $17.00.  So great!  And they are Christian Soriano's.  If you don't know who he is, you should look it up.  He's an amazing designer and winner of Project Runway season 4.  I also scored some new work shirts for Blake on clearance at Old Navy.  I just love feeling good about purchases when I get home and I love shopping the clearance racks.  Oh, and I also scored a free top this week at JCPenney.  I ordered it online through their clearance section.  The top was $10.00 amd I had a $10 off of $10 coupon.  And then, I had it shipped to the store for free for a grand savings of 100%.  That top should be in next week.  So excited!  Hopefully I'll have somewhere nice to wear it too.  Maybe Blake will take me out to dinner.  Oh and by the way, Blake was pretty impressed by my savings.
The only other thing that has been trying my patience is that Alex has been really really testy lately.  He also has been getting really mad at me and screaming and yelling and biting and hitting, etc.  The list goes on.  You can imagine it, he does it.  Is this normal terrible threes?  Or am I missing crucial info that all you wonderful mommas out there could share?  I feel like such a failure sometimes-especially when I have such a great day with him and within a second that could turn to me holding him down and pinning his arms so he wont strike me in the face cause I wouldnt give him my sunglasses...I don't know...just feeling a little lost in the parenting department right now.  Also, potty training is sooo frustrating and everytime I think I'm making progress, I feel like we take two steps backward.  And I know this is weird, but how did you convince or teach ur kids to #2 in the potty?  Alex won't do it and I can't seem to get through to him.  Again, normal?  Any feedback would be great.
But anyways, that's us.  Blake working. Alex testing. And me doing lots of virtual shopping, whether for real or on Pinterest.  Mostly Pinterest.  It must be my stress reliever lol.  Still loving life as always and despite everything, wouldn't trade my life for anything in the world.
Cheers to you all.
Hope you all are well and happy!
