So as stated in the most recent posts, we did have quite a few things go on that demand some good blog time. So I am going to embark on catch up because all of these things were so much fun and I would hate for them to go undocumented.
So first off, we celebrated our family Valentine's by going to the Lego Movie and going out to eat. Blake supplied some great goodies as always and we set up the day to be a celebration of love for each other.

Loving my goodies for V-day. Also got my Spinach dip at Applebees...this girl was totally spoiled! |
Unfortunately, while out and about, we got a call that his parents were both in the hospital (for completely separate issues) and so we made the decision to leave the next day and drive to Amarillo to be with them. It was a pretty big deal and totally spontaneous, but we were strongly prompted to go and we couldn't shake the feeling that we were needed and that this was something we were supposed to do. SO, as any good person would do, we loaded up the car with our favorite snacks and headed out. We did a long overnight 24 hour drive, but we made it safely the next day and by the middle of week, both parents were out of the hospital and onto full recovery. Thankfully, Blake got a full week off so we stayed the week and looked after them.
At the end of the week, Alex celebrated his fourth birthday, and since I had to postpone his pirate party, we celebrated in style with an Avengers party at Mimi's house. He had a blast and talks more about this party than the pirate party I spent so much time on. LOL, kids are so funny.

Here's the bday boy in all his glory. I made the cake and we bought the four figures which he now plays with and adores! |
Presents are his favorite part! |
Got a pirate's chest CD player, thanks to Mimi! |
When we got back from Texas, we were tired but routine took over and soon Blake was back at work and Alex and I were back to palling around the house. A week or so later, we threw his pirate bday with all his friends.

Pirate Place setting. |

Decorate the telescope station. |

Ye vittles, Cap'n! |
There she blows, me 'earties! This is the pirate ship I constructed out of cake! yes, CAKE! |
Digging for buried treasure on the porch. Chocolate and coins and jewels, I think. |
The party area before it started. I hand did all the pirate banners myself. |
Thinking the cake is the best next to chocolate, basically. |
IS the cake yummy? I would think so. |
Loving the presents! He got some pretty cool toys, I'm not gonna lie. |
The pretty mommas. These ladies are my Florida sisters. I love them so much and are going to miss them even more. :( |
Coolest toy of the day? The huge Thomas train track that Momma scored on clearance at Wally World. He loves having such a big track to work with. I think I see a train engineer in the making. |
Great times and great birthday parties. He can't wait til he turns five, so he can plan another party with Mommy. Mommy says take your time, and STOP GROWING SO FAST! Where has the time gone? Crazy how fast life flies when you are living every minute, and yet, how much more could I live from day to day? Good thoughts to leave everyone with, I think. Night night!
