Mango (Cute as a Button) Rawls

So I just wanted to share a little bit more about our fairly new cat, Mango.
She is a year and a half old. We rescued her from the cat shelter here in Rexburg. She was on the list of animals who had been in the shelter the longest. Because of the number of cats they had, the shelter was doing a promotion...Any cat on the 'been there the longest' list was 1/2 off the adoption price. So, our cat was only $35!

You also might have noticed that I changed the pronoun used when describing our cat.
Yes, Mango is no longer a 'he'. 'He' is a 'She'!

It actually is a really funny story. One night, about three weeks after adopting her, Blake and I were on the couch giving her some attention. Blake was rubbing her belly and noticed that there were some parts on her stomach that wouldn't belong on a male cat (nipples to be exact). Anyways, Blake has worked as a vet tech and he started investigating our cat further and sure enough, our cat was a GIRL. Now we felt really stupid because we had just taken the ladies' word for it at the shelter. Her records even stated that she had been neutered. Well, we went to the shelter a couple days later and found out that the records had been transcribed incorrectly and that she was, in fact, a girl. What a story to tell our children!

Mango has truly started to become part of the family. She is a diva though. She is obsessed with throwing fits should she not get her way. We are in the midst of training her.
But she is so precious because she will take whatever Alex throws at her and believe me-
that's quite a bit of stuff.
