Christmas Service Has Started/Grad Night

Let the Christmas Countdown Begin-18 days til Christmas...

Today was the first day that we started doing our days of service.
We had three to do today because we were behind and needed to catch up.
Finals have been getting the best of us.
Today, Alex got to help with family prayer.

Then, we went shopping for the Walmart giving tree. I selected a little 18 month old boy who is in need of some snow boots, a snowsuit/coat, and some toy cars. Although I couldn't get everything, we did get some really cool cars at the Dollar Tree. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know that we helped a little boy have a Christmas. Alex didn't understand that the cars weren't for him and so he was not happy about the situation, but it gave me the opportunity to try and teach him about service and helping others in need. It was pretty neat, and although I know that it didn't really 'get through', I know that if we do this every year-it will make an impact. Hopefully, when we are out of the student lifestyle, we will be able to give more and help even more kids have a Merry Christmas.
For the third service, Alex got to give Mango a special treat which she enjoyed immensely.
Even pets love to have holiday cheer!

Countdown til Graduation-8 days til Graduation!

Then tonight, Blake and I went to Grad Night. We got to enjoy a small devotional led by President Clark and Vice President Henry J. Eyring (President Eyring's son). They gave addresses on the importance of education and the importance of what we've accomplished. They also encouraged us to go forward into our futures with faith, having our eye and our goal constantly on Christ. If we never give up and never lose sight of the kingdom, we will be successful and be a light unto all that we touch. This University has taught me many things and I wouldn't have traded my time here for anything. There have been negative moments, but for the most part, my experience has been mostly positive. I have learned of many spiritual and secular truths and have loved the friends that I have made.

The Spori Quad in the Summer-the only time when it looks this pretty!

I know that God brought me here for a reason--to meet my husband, to grow as an individual, and to learn how to be a disciple of Christ. This is His school and His Spirit resides here. We can hold this Spirit in our hearts as long as we hold true to the principles that we have been taught. I will be sad to leave this university and close a chapter of my life, but I have learned so much and will take what I have learned with me from here, forward, to forever.
Thanks to BYU-Idaho for helping to mold me into a faithful servant and daughter of Christ.
